xTool offers 800W and 1200W MetalFab variants. Its own comparison materials list the 800W version up to 4 mm on stainless/carbon steel and 3 mm aluminum, while the 1200W version is listed up to 5 mm on stainless/carbon steel and 4 mm aluminum. Published MSRP on the US page is $4,699 and $7,999 respectively, though live promotions can differ.
800W or 1200W?
Short answer: Start with 800W when portability, thin-sheet work and lower investment dominate. Move to 1200W when thicker work, throughput and production headroom justify the premium.
What to verify before buying
- Actual facility power requirement and circuit capacity.
- Whether your package includes the cutting system or only the welder.
- Installation, warranty and service scope in your location.
- Material-specific settings for your thickness range.
Safety note: Handheld fiber laser welders are high-power Class 4 laser systems. Use appropriate engineering controls, laser-rated PPE, training and a controlled work area. Always follow the exact manufacturer manual.
